Detail:

Domestic abuse has a devastating impact on children and young people that can last into adulthood.  This webinar offers an introduction to the impact that domestic abuse can have and will explore some of the physical and emotional effects. It will help to upskill professionals to feel more confident in responding to disclosure or suspicions of abuse. The course is available to all professionals working with children and young people, including schools, nurseries, health colleagues and social worker/family support workers.

 Learning Outcomes:

  • Understand of the impact of domestic abuse on children, including physical and emotional impacts, and recognising DA as an ACE (Adverse Childhood Experience)
  • Know how to respond to disclosures or suspicions that a child has witnessed or experienced domestic abuse
  • Gain an awareness of specialist support available to children witnessing DA and how to refer to appropriate services, including safeguarding responsibilities
