This introductory course, available to all Hampshire professionals and volunteers working with children and young people, is part of a series of courses examining harmful practices.  It will help develop professional knowledge and seek to answer questions about what constitutes ‘Honour’ Based Abuse; the difference between arranged and forced marriage; the prevalence of this type of abuse; the communities it can affect; early signs and indicators and available support.

Learning Outcomes:

  • Develop an understanding of ‘Honour ‘Based Abuse (HBA), Forced Marriage (FM) and dowry abuse
  • Learn how to recognise signs of HBA and FM
  • Learn about laws that are in place to protect people and agency reporting duties
  • Recognise the importance of the “One Chance Rule”
  • Know where to get help
