Detail:

This live virtual course will provide Hampshire professionals and volunteers with a sound understanding of the government's counter terrorism strategy - Prevent. It will introduce the different types of extremism, methods used to radicalise, signs and behaviours in children and young people that might indicate urgent action is required and also, discuss case studies to help professionals deepen their understanding of how to respond to protect individuals in their professional care.

Learning Outcomes:

  • Understand what Prevent is and the current threat
  • Gain knowledge on radicalisation, extremism and terrorism and how it can take place
  • Understand the push and pull factors and recognise behaviours associated with radicalisation and extremism
  • Know what to do in cases where you suspect someone may be being radicalised
  • Look at individual cases of radicalisation and the outcomes
