HSCP Designated Safeguarding Leads Conference 2025 (BOOKING PAGE)

Date & Time:

Tuesday 10 June 2025 (09:15 - 15:30)

Venue:

Virtual Course, Microsoft Teams

Detail:

The conference is designed to support those in the role of Designated Safeguarding Lead (DSL) in engaging with a child-centred, multi-agency response to safeguarding concerns. The conference will focus on the role of DSLs in identifying concerns and supporting children and families to access support early. This is underpinned by the Hampshire Approach, which is a strengths-based way of working to help children and families to achieve sustained change. The conference will explore how this approach aims to respond to risk and keep children safe, develop positive relationships, identify and build on strengths and grow and strengthen supportive networks. Themes covered during the day will include identifying and supporting children at risk of sexual abuse, children who are victims of domestic abuse and the role of schools in supporting children who are at risk of exploitation.

Delegates attending the conference will hear important updates regarding statutory guidance including Keeping Children Safe in Education. Important information will also be shared regarding recent local learning from case reviews and audits, as well as new tools and resources designed to support professionals working in education settings in Hampshire.

Following on from the success of previous DSL conferences, this year’s event will be held virtually on MS Teams. Providing a delegate attends the whole day, this conference will satisfy the statutory refresher training for DSLs, as identified in KCSiE 2024.  This event is open to all DSLs across Hampshire’s early years settings, schools and colleges.

Cost for Attendance: £30 per delegate. Please note that you will not be charged VAT as it is not applicable to this product.
