Detail:

Children who have experienced traumatic events need support from professionals and volunteers who understand the impact these traumas can have on their health and wellbeing.  This course will help interested professionals examine different adverse childhood experiences, to respond with different strategies and build their 'trauma informed practice' to support children and young people. This course is available to all working with children and young people in Hampshire.

Learning Outcomes:

  • Explore categories of ACEs and direct experiences that affect the child directly and indirectly
  • Explore triggers that can result in challenging behaviour
  • Review the underpinning principles of Trauma Informed Practice that will help us to develop curiosity when managing our own and other's behaviour to support building resilience
  • Provide an overview of the Pan-Hampshire trauma informed journey
