This course has been developed to support professionals in their understanding of private fostering and define professionals' and the public's responsibility towards children who are privately fostered.

Learning Outcomes 

  • Understand and identify what Private Fostering is.
  • Define professional and public responsibility towards children who are in private fostering arrangements.
  • Explain why a child in private fostering is not a ‘looked after child’ (LAC).
  • Understand who is responsible for the child in a private fostering arrangement.
