Detail:

This introductory course, available to all Hampshire professionals and volunteers working with children and young people, is part of a series of courses examining harmful practices.  It will help develop professional knowledge and seek to answer questions about what constitutes Honour Based Abuse, the difference between arranged and forced marriage, the prevelance of this type of abuse, the communities it can affect, early signs and indicators and available support.

Learning Outcomes:

  • Develop an understanding of issues around Honour Based Abuse (HBA), Forced Marriage (FM) and Dowry
  • Learn how to recognise signs of HBA and FM
  • Learn to understand laws and reporting duties
  • Learn to recognise the importance of the “One Chance Rule”
  • To know of existing protections and where to get help
